Volunteer Vacancies
Get inVOLved at HERIB.
At HERIB our volunteers are very important to us as they assist us in so many ways to provide our services for visually impaired people and also work very hard to raise the funds needed to allow those activities to take place.
We really value our volunteers and offer full induction, support and training, including an Open College Network accredited course in Visually Impaired Awareness.
Please take a moment to consider the following Volunteering Opportunities and if you feel you would like to find out more or get involved in any way, please contact us now.
Day Centres
Would you like to help with day centre, serving meals and refreshments and helping to run activities at all our centres?
Drivers and Escorts
We need drivers and escorts to man our mini buses and Mobile Resource Bus.
IT Mentors
We need mentors to learn a bit more about the technology and assist visually impaired people to learn the basics of computing. By using speech or magnification technology, visually impaired people can enjoy all the freedom of communication computers can bring.
The Sports and Leisure Group
The group enables people to take part in a wide range of activities including Yoga, swimming, sailing, bowling, theatre trips and more! Friendly people to get involved are always welcome.
Fundraising
Volunteers help tremendously in assisting us in raising the funds we need to provide our services.
Street collections
Collections provide a vital source of income. The general public are very generous. If you could help – even on just one occasion for 2 to 3 hours contact us now.
Volunteer fundraisers can also organise and run their own events, take part in HERIB’s Challenges and events – even donating prizes and selling raffle tickets helps us a lot.

Whether you have some free time and want to “give something back” or are looking for a change of direction and seeking work experience, we would love to hear from you, so please contact us now.
