Our Visual Impairment Awareness Training Course is accredited by the Open College Network.
It aims to offer anyone the skills, knowledge and confidence to deliver services which are accessible and inclusive for visually impaired people.
At the end of the course the learner will understand ways in which visual impairment can affect the individual and will be able to describe strategies to give support and maintain independence. Learning is practical and skills based.
The course is made up of a one day training session and private study time to complete a short, work based project. Assessment is by completing a portfolio of work.
The course is suitable for caring and support staff, retail, entertainment and front line public sector staff.
